Biography
Anthony Charles Edwards is an American actor, director and producer. Born on 19 July 1962 in Santa Barbara, California, he studied theatre at the University of Southern California after attending a workshop at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
Edwards first gained notice for roles in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) and as Goose in Top Gun (1986). He played Dr Mark Greene in the television series ER from 1994 to 2002. Other film credits include The Client (1994), The Forgotten (2004) and Inspector William Armstrong in Zodiac (2007). He has also appeared in Flipped (2010) and provided voice work for Planes (2013).
For his performance in ER, Edwards received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama and multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards, and was nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards.
