Biography
Arne Schmidt is an American film producer, production manager and screenwriter. He began his career in the 1970s as an assistant director on low-budget films and worked with directors including John Hughes and Francis Ford Coppola before advancing to production roles.
He served as producer on RoboCop (1987), directed by Paul Verhoeven. Subsequent producing credits include The Great Outdoors (1988), Little Giants (1994), Chain Reaction (1996), xXx: State of the Union (2005) and Next (2007). He also worked as executive producer on Awakenings (1990), We Were Soldiers (2002), xXx (2002) and Big Fish (2003).
Schmidt wrote the screenplay for Hunter Killer (2018) and contributed the story for Chain Reaction (1996).
