Biography
Arnold Kopelson (14 February 1935 – 8 October 2018) was an American film producer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he earned a law degree from New York Law School and initially practised entertainment and banking law, specialising in motion-picture financing. He later moved into film production and distribution, co-founding Inter-Ocean Film Sales with his wife Anne.
Kopelson produced or executive-produced nearly 30 feature films. His credits include Platoon (1986), Falling Down (1993), The Fugitive (1993), Outbreak (1995), Se7en (1995), Eraser (1996), The Devil's Advocate (1997) and U.S. Marshals (1998). He received the Academy Award for Best Picture for Platoon, a nomination in the same category for The Fugitive, and other honours including Producer of the Year from the National Association of Theatre Owners.
