Biography
Ashley Rowe is a British cinematographer born on 28 February 1959 in Dorset, England. He began his career in the late 1970s and early 1980s, working initially in camera and electrical departments before becoming a director of photography. He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC).
Rowe has worked extensively in both film and television. His credits include director of photography on the series Doctor Who (2014–2017) and The Durrells (2019), as well as The Last Kingdom (2020–2022), Merlin (2011–2012), and films such as Ali G Indahouse (2002), Calendar Girls (2003), Alfie (2004), and Starter for 10 (2006). He has received several awards, including BAFTA Cymru awards for cinematography on Friday on My Mind (1992) and The Cormorant (1993).
