Biography
Richard Senior is a British television director. He made his directing debut on the 2011 Doctor Who episode 'Let's Kill Hitler', becoming one of the youngest directors on the revived series.
Senior trained in television and video production at Bournemouth University. He began his career in advertising, creating promotional campaigns for BBC dramas, and worked as an editor on Doctor Who trailers and inserts before moving into drama directing. He later served as lead director on series including M.I. High, McDonald & Dodds and Tell Me Everything.
His credits include episodes of Poldark (2016), Humans (2018), The Last Kingdom (2017), Hard Sun (2018), Silent Witness (2016), Our Girl (2014), The Buccaneers (2023) and A Woman of Substance (2026).
