Biography
Sallie Aprahamian is a British television and film director. She began her career in theatre, directing over thirty productions of new work for companies including M6, Lancaster Playhouse and the Women’s Theatre Group. She co-founded Plain Clothes Productions and developed and directed the play Blue Night In The Heart Of The West, which won the George Devine Award.
She moved into television in the late 1980s, initially as a script editor on EastEnders before directing on Eldorado and other series. Her credits include episodes of This Life (1996), Teachers (2001), The Sins, The Lakes, Wolfblood, The Dumping Ground, The Worst Witch, Hetty Feather, Poldark (lead director on the final season), Doctor Who (2018), Fate: The Winx Saga, COBRA and Domina. She directed the feature film Broken Lines (2008), which screened at the Venice and London film festivals.
Aprahamian has received multiple BAFTA nominations for her television work.
