Biography

Stephen Woolfenden is a British television director and second unit director. Born on 25 April 1966 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, he is the son of composer and conductor Guy Woolfenden.

He worked as second unit director on the Harry Potter film series (2007–2011) and later on films including The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and Fantastic Beasts entries. His television directing credits include episodes of Doctor Who (2013), Poldark (2017), Outlander (2019–2020), Willow (2022, also as producer) and SAS: Rogue Heroes (2025).
