Biography

Benjamin Semanoff, also credited as Ben Semanoff, is an American director and former cinematographer. He began his career in the camera department, working as an A-camera operator and Steadicam operator on films including Creed (2015) and The Upside (2019), and television series such as The Leftovers (2014) and Ozark (2017).

Semanoff transitioned to directing, helming episodes of Ozark (2018–2020), for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. His other directing credits include episodes of Yellowjackets (2021–2025), Tulsa King (2022), The Old Man (2022–2024) and Black Rabbit (2025). A graduate of Temple University, he is based in New York.
