Biography

Jason Kent Bateman (born 14 January 1969) is an American actor and director. He began his career as a child actor in the early 1980s, appearing in television series including Little House on the Prairie (1981–1982) and The Hogan Family (1986–1991). He made his directorial debut on an episode of The Hogan Family.

Bateman is known for his roles as Michael Bluth in the sitcom Arrested Development (2003–2019) and Marty Byrde in the series Ozark (2017–2022). His film credits include Juno (2007), Hancock (2008), Horrible Bosses (2011) and its sequel, Game Night (2018), Air (2023) as Rob Strasser, and voicing Nick Wilde in Zootopia (2016) and Zootopia 2 (2025). He directed episodes of Black Rabbit (2025), in which he also appeared as Vince Friedken, and the series DTF St. Louis (2026) as Clark Forrest.
