Biography

Bernie Pollack was an American costume designer and occasional actor. He was born on 2 January 1936 in Lafayette, Indiana, and died on 10 May 2019.

He received his first major credit as costume designer on Ordinary People (1980). Pollack worked frequently with his brother, director Sydney Pollack, on films including The Electric Horseman (1979), Absence of Malice (1981) and Random Hearts (1999). He also designed costumes for several Robert Redford and Harrison Ford projects, such as Legal Eagles (1986), The Horse Whisperer (1998), What Lies Beneath (2000) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

Other notable credits include Rain Man (1988), Tango & Cash (1989), Sneakers (1992), Clear and Present Danger (1994) and A River Runs Through It (1992). Pollack also appeared in small acting roles in a number of films.
