Biography

Bill Baldwin was an American actor, announcer, narrator and sportscaster. Born William Theodore Baldwin on 26 November 1913 in Pueblo, Colorado, he served as one of a small number of radio war correspondents during the Second World War. After the war he worked as an announcer on the radio programme of comedian-ventriloquist Edgar Bergen.

Baldwin appeared in numerous films and television series, often in uncredited or voice roles as announcers or commentators. He is best known for playing the fight announcer in Rocky (1976), a commentator in Rocky II (1979) and the title rematch commentator in Rocky III (1982). Other credits include The Apartment (1960) and episodes of series such as Batman (1966) and The Incredible Hulk (1977). He also served as national president of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists from 1970 to 1972.
