Biography
Brunello Rondi (1924–1989) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He began his career in 1947, contributing to the script of Last Love and working as an assistant director. He collaborated with Roberto Rossellini on The Flowers of St. Francis (1950) and Europa '51 (1952).
Rondi is best known for his extensive work with Federico Fellini. He co-wrote the screenplays for La Dolce Vita (1960), 8½ (1963), Juliet of the Spirits (1965), Orchestra Rehearsal (1979) and City of Women (1980). He made his directorial debut with Violent Life (1962, co-directed) and went on to direct films including Il demonio (1963). His brother Gian Luigi Rondi was a film critic.
