Biography
Burt Styler was an American television and film screenwriter and producer. Born in New York City, he began his career in the late 1940s and remained active until 1989. He wrote for numerous sitcoms and variety series, including Gilligan's Island, My Favorite Martian, The Brady Bunch, The Carol Burnett Show and Chico and the Man.
Styler contributed two episodes to the first season of MASH in 1972. He wrote or co-wrote four episodes of All in the Family between 1971 and 1972, winning a Primetime Emmy Award in 1972 for the teleplay of 'Edith's Problem'. He also collaborated on several Bob Hope films, including Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number! (1966), and later worked with his wife Adele Styler on series such as The Brady Bunch and Too Close for Comfort*.
