Biography
Buzz Aldrin is an American astronaut and occasional actor, credited in numerous films and television programmes, often appearing as himself or providing voice work.
Born Edwin Eugene Aldrin Jr. on 20 January 1930 in New Jersey, he trained as a fighter pilot and engineer before joining NASA. As pilot of the Gemini 12 mission in 1966 he performed three spacewalks, and in 1969 he served as Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 11, becoming the second person to walk on the Moon.
Aldrin's screen credits include appearances in The Big Bang Theory (2012), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), The Simpsons (various episodes) and the documentary Apollo 11 (2019), where he is credited via archive footage. He has also contributed to other documentaries and series such as Futurama and 30 Rock.
