Biography
Catriona McKenzie is an Australian director and writer. She is an Aboriginal Australian woman of the Gunai/Kurnai people. She graduated with honours from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in 2001 and later studied screenwriting at New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
McKenzie's feature debut Satellite Boy (2012), which she wrote and directed, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and received a Special Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival. She has directed episodes of numerous television series, including The Walking Dead (2010), The Boys (2019), Supernatural (2005), Shadowhunters (2016) — the first US series directed by an Indigenous Australian woman — Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018) and How to Get Away with Murder (2014). In 2018 she founded the production company Dark Horse.
