Biography
Frederick E.O. Toye is an American television director, producer and editor. Born in Los Angeles, he graduated with a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He began his career as a production assistant and worked for many years as an editor before moving into directing.
Toye is a frequent collaborator with J.J. Abrams. He has directed episodes of series including Alias, Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest, The Walking Dead, Westworld, The Boys, Watchmen and Fallout (2024). He has also served as a producer or executive producer on several of these shows.
In 2024, Toye won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for his work on the FX series Shōgun.
