Charlayne Woodard is an American actress and playwright. She was born on 29 December 1953 in Albany, New York.

Woodard received two Obie Awards and was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk Awards for her performance in the original Broadway production of the musical Ain’t Misbehavin’. Her film credits include Unbreakable (2000) as Elijah's Mother and Glass (2019) as Mrs. Price. On television she has appeared in recurring roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Sister Peg, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as Janice, and ER as Angela Gilliam, among others.
