Biography
Chevy Chase is an American comedian, actor and writer. Born Cornelius Crane Chase on 8 October 1943 in New York City, he attended Bard College before beginning his career with odd jobs and work as a comedy writer for National Lampoon.
Chase was a cast member and writer on the first season of Saturday Night Live, where his Weekend Update segment became a regular feature; he received three Primetime Emmy Awards. He is known for his film roles as Clark Griswold in the National Lampoon's Vacation series and as Ty Webb in Caddyshack (1980). From 2009 to 2014 he played Pierce Hawthorne in the NBC series Community.
