Biography
Chris Buck is an American film director, animator and screenwriter. He joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1978 as an animator and later directed Tarzan (1999). He co-directed Surf's Up (2007) at Sony Pictures Animation before returning to Disney.
Buck co-directed the Academy Award-winning Frozen (2013) and its sequel Frozen II (2019), both with Jennifer Lee. He directed Wish (2023) with Fawn Veerasunthorn, on which he is also credited with the story. Earlier credits include supervising animator and character work on Pocahontas (1995) and other Disney features. He studied character animation at CalArts.
