Biography
Idina Menzel is an American actress and singer. She made her Broadway debut in 1996 as Maureen Johnson in the musical Rent, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. In 2003 she originated the role of Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway, winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, and later reprised it in the West End production.
Menzel graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She has voiced Elsa in Disney's Frozen (2013) and its sequels and shorts. Her film roles include Nancy Tremaine in Enchanted (2007) and Dinah Ratner in Uncut Gems (2019). She played Shelby Corcoran in the television series Glee from 2010 to 2013 and returned to Broadway in If/Then (2014), receiving a further Tony nomination.
