Biography

Christopher DeFaria is an American film producer and former production executive. Born on 20 May 1959 in San Francisco, California, he graduated from UCLA. As a child he voiced Peppermint Patty in several Peanuts television specials and films between 1969 and 1973, and Pig-Pen in the 1969 feature A Boy Named Charlie Brown.

DeFaria held senior roles at Warner Bros., where he founded the studio’s animation division WAG, and later served as president of DreamWorks Animation. He has produced or executive-produced films including Gravity (2013), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Ready Player One (2018) and Tom & Jerry (2021). Under his Keylight banner he has developed hybrid live-action and animation projects.

He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Writers Guild of America, and a founding board member of FilmAid International.
