Biography
Chus Lampreave (born María Jesús Lampreave Pérez) was a Spanish actress. Born in Madrid on 11 December 1930, she began her screen career in the late 1950s and appeared in more than seventy films until the early 2010s.
She became widely known for her collaborations with Pedro Almodóvar, appearing in eight of his films including What Have I Done to Deserve This? (1984), Matador (1986), Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988), The Flower of My Secret (1995), Talk to Her (2002), Volver (2006) as Aunt Paula, and Broken Embraces (2009). Other notable roles include Torrente: The Dumb Arm of the Law (1998) and its sequels, and Belle Époque (1992).
Lampreave received the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress for Belle Époque. She shared the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress with the female ensemble of Volver and was awarded the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes in 2001. She died in Almería on 4 April 2016.
