Biography
Craig muMs Grant, also credited as muMs da Schemer or Craig muMs Grant, was an American actor and poet. He was born on 18 December 1968 in New York City and raised in the Bronx. He died on 24 March 2021 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Grant began his career in slam poetry as a member of the 1996 Nuyorican Poetry Slam team and appeared in the 1998 documentary SlamNation. He performed on seasons 2–4 of HBO's Def Poetry Jam and was a member of New York City's LAByrinth Theater Company. He attended Mount St. Michael Academy High School in the Bronx.
He was best known for playing Arnold 'Poet' Jackson, a recurring character across all six seasons of the HBO series Oz (1997–2003). Other credits include roles in The Sopranos (2006), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2013), Marvel's Luke Cage (2016), Good Time (2017), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014), Side Effects (2013) and No Sudden Move (2021).
