Biography
Dan Wyllie, also credited as Daniel Wyllie, is an Australian stage, film and television actor. He grew up in Sydney and began acting in amateur theatre with the Australian Theatre for Young People while studying arts at the University of New South Wales. His first screen roles came in the early 1990s, including Frank Fletcher in Spotswood (1992) and Cackles in Romper Stomper (1992).
He appeared as Perry Heslop in Muriel's Wedding (1994) and has since taken supporting parts in films such as The Thin Red Line (1998), Animal Kingdom (2010), The Water Diviner (2014) and The Great (2020). On television he played Charlie Jackson in Love My Way (2004–2007), for which he received a Silver Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series in 2004. Wyllie has worked extensively in theatre, notably with Sydney's Company B Belvoir, and considers himself an untrained actor.
