Biography
David Arkin (24 December 1941 – 14 January 1991) was an American actor born in Los Angeles, California. He appeared in supporting roles in several films directed by Robert Altman, including Staff Sergeant Vollmer in MASH (1970), Harry in The Long Goodbye (1973), Norman in Nashville (1975) and the Mailman/Policeman in Popeye* (1980).
Arkin also played Eugene Bachinski in All the President's Men (1976) and had earlier credits including an uncredited role in Valley of the Dolls (1967). He appeared in three films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture: MASH, Nashville and All the President's Men. He had guest roles on television series such as Hawaii Five-O* (1969).
Arkin was married to actress Anne E. Curry at the time of his death.
