Biography
David Fleming is an American composer of film, television and interactive media scores. He studied musical composition at the State University of New York at Purchase and began his career in New York creating music for advertising before moving to Los Angeles.
He has collaborated extensively with composers including Hans Zimmer and Atli Örvarsson. His credits include co-composing the score for the BBC series Blue Planet II (2017) with Zimmer, Hillbilly Elegy (2020) and The Unforgivable (2021), and co-composing the HBO series The Last of Us (2023–) with Gustavo Santaolalla. He co-composed the score for the film Superman (2025) with John Murphy and the series Widow's Bay (2026).
Fleming won the ASCAP Screen Music Award for Television Score of the Year in 2024 for The Last of Us and a Primetime Emmy Award in 2024 for Jim Henson: Idea Man.
