Biography
David Foster is an American television writer, producer and physician. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1995 and trained as an internist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, later working at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Foster began his television career as a medical consultant on series including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He joined the writing staff of House (2004) part-time in its first season as a writer and technical consultant, becoming full-time in 2005. He contributed numerous episodes as writer and teleplay author, and rose to co-executive producer. He later wrote for Scorpion (2014) and served as executive producer and writer on New Amsterdam (2018).
In 2010 he shared a Writers Guild of America Award for the House episode "Broken".
