Biography
David Franzoni is an American screenwriter and film producer. Born on 4 March 1947 in Vermont, he attended the University of Vermont.
He conceived the story for and co-wrote Gladiator (2000), which he also co-produced. The film won the Academy Award for Best Picture. His other screenplays include Amistad (1997), King Arthur (2004) and Jumpin' Jack Flash (1986). He served as producer on Gladiator II (2024), based on characters he created.
Franzoni has worked with Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Pictures.
