Biography
David Hugh Jones (19 February 1934 – 18 September 2008) was a British stage, television and film director. Born in Poole, Dorset, he was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge, and began his career in television with the BBC arts series Monitor in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
He served as artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Aldwych Theatre from 1973 to 1978. Jones made his feature film debut with Betrayal (1983) and later directed 84 Charing Cross Road (1987). His television work included episodes of series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Bones (2005), The Practice (1997) and 7th Heaven (2003), as well as the television film A Christmas Carol (1999).
