Biography
David McWhirter is a television director. He holds an MFA from CalArts, where he studied directing and acting. He began his career in assistant director roles on series including Major Crimes and The Closer before making his directorial debut on the latter show's episode 'Maternal Instincts'.
McWhirter has directed episodes of numerous series, including The Flash (2017–2022), Blindspot (2015–2019), Supergirl (2017–2021), Quantico (where he also served as co-executive producer), All American (2018–2025), The Rookie, Walker and Ransom Canyon (2025). He has directed multiple season premieres and finales, as well as a DC crossover event.
