Biography
David Reynolds is an American screenwriter. He began his career in television as one of the original writers on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 1993, contributing to over 400 episodes before moving to Los Angeles in 1995.
He subsequently worked at Walt Disney Feature Animation and Pixar Animation Studios on numerous projects. His credits include additional story material on Mulan (1998) and A Bug's Life (1998), host segments for Fantasia 2000 (1999), the screenplay for The Emperor's New Groove (2000), and co-writing the screenplay for Finding Nemo (2003) with Andrew Stanton and Bob Peterson. He later contributed to Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), Chicken Little (2005), Toy Story 3 (2010) and co-wrote the screenplay for The Garfield Movie (2024).
For Finding Nemo, Reynolds received an Academy Award nomination and a BAFTA nomination for Best Original Screenplay, and won an Annie Award for Writing in a Feature Production. He also received a BAFTA nomination for The Emperor's New Groove.
