Biography

David J. Zuckerman is an American television writer and producer. Born on 28 August 1962 in Danville, California, he graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career as a creative executive before writing for the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1993–1995).

Zuckerman wrote four episodes of the animated series King of the Hill (1997–1999) and served as supervising producer and co-executive producer on its early seasons. He developed Family Guy (1999) with Seth MacFarlane and acted as its original showrunner and executive producer. He later contributed to American Dad! (2005) and created the US adaptation of Wilfred (2011), on which he also wrote and produced.

Zuckerman received a Primetime Emmy Award and several nominations for his work on animated programmes.
