Biography

Dean Taucher is a production designer and art director whose credits include season one of the HBO series The Sopranos (1999). He has worked extensively in television, serving as production designer on more than twenty seasons of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999–2020) and three seasons of New York Undercover (1994–1997).

Taucher began his career as a set designer in Chicago’s off-loop theatre scene after studying at the Goodman School of Drama. He later worked as a scenic artist on Broadway productions and moved into film and television, contributing to projects such as Manhunter (1986), L.A. Takedown (1989) and Miami Vice. In 2026 he made his debut as a playwright with the Off-Broadway production Movies TV Mayhem, and his Sopranos set designs were exhibited at the Museum of the Moving Image.

He has been married to Gabrielle Lansner since 2008.
