Biography
Henry J. Bronchtein is an American director, producer and production manager. Born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, he attended New York City public schools and studied film at New York University.
He began his career as an assistant director on feature films, including Raging Bull (1980) and several directed by Paul Mazursky. His first assistant director credits include Weekend at Bernie's (1989), It Could Happen to You (1994), Striptease (1996) and A Perfect Murder (1998).
Bronchtein served as co-executive producer and unit production manager on the HBO series The Sopranos (1999–2007), winning two Primetime Emmy Awards for the programme. He directed four episodes of the series, two of which received Directors Guild of America nominations. He has since directed episodes of series including The Following (2013) and Turn: Washington's Spies (2017).
