Biography
Doug Lefler is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and storyboard artist. He began making home movies as a child in Southern California and attended the California Institute of the Arts, where his classmates included Tim Burton, John Lasseter, John Musker and Brad Bird. He worked for several years as an animator and storyboard artist at Disney and other studios before moving into live-action work.
Lefler directed second unit on films including Army of Darkness (1991), A Simple Plan (1998) and Spider-Man (2002). His television directing credits include episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess (including the pilot), JAG, Mortal Kombat: Conquest and the Babylon 5 episode 'Day of the Dead'. He directed the features Dragonheart: A New Beginning (2000) and The Last Legion (2007).
