Biography
Douglas Petrie, also credited as Doug Petrie, is an American screenwriter, director and television producer. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of William & Mary in 1985.
Petrie joined the writing staff of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in its third season as a story editor and rose through production roles to become co-executive producer. He wrote numerous episodes for the series and directed three, including "Flooded" and "As You Were". He also contributed to the spin-off Angel and later worked as a writer and producer on series including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The 4400, American Horror Story, Marvel's Daredevil (as showrunner) and Marvel's The Defenders (as co-creator). His film credits include co-writing the screenplays for Harriet the Spy (1996) and Fantastic Four (2005).
