Biography
Ellen Geer is an American actress, theatre director and professor. Born in New York City, she is the daughter of actors Will Geer and Herta Ware. She began her screen career with a role in the 1968 film Petulia and appeared in The Reivers (1969) alongside her father.
Geer is known for supporting roles in films including Harold and Maude (1971), Patriot Games (1992) and Practical Magic (1998), as well as numerous television guest appearances such as in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Supernatural (2005) and Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005). Since 1978 she has served as artistic director of the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon, California, where she has also acted and directed.
