Biography

Emma Dennis-Edwards is a British writer and performer of Jamaican and Trinidadian heritage. She trained at the BRIT School of Performing Arts and East 15 Acting School.

Her television writing credits include episodes of Casualty (2021), Holby City (2021), EastEnders (2021), Champion (2023), Boarders (2024) and Death in Paradise (2026). She created the Channel 4 drama Consent (2023) and has worked as a script consultant on Ragdoll (2021). She was selected for the BBC Studios Writers Academy in 2019.

Dennis-Edwards is also a theatre writer. Her solo play Funeral Flowers, which she performed, won a Scotsman’s Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 and transferred to several London venues. She has developed other stage work through programmes at the Royal Court, Old Vic and elsewhere.
