Biography
Enrico Medioli was an Italian screenwriter. Born in Parma in 1925, he began working in film in the late 1950s and collaborated closely with director Luchino Visconti on seven screenplays between 1960 and 1976.
His credits with Visconti include Rocco and His Brothers (1960), The Leopard (1963), The Damned (1969) and The Innocent (1976). He also wrote for Valerio Zurlini on Girl with a Suitcase (1961) and Indian Summer (1972), and contributed to the screenplay of Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Medioli received a Nastro d’Argento for Rocco and His Brothers and an Academy Award nomination for The Damned.
Later in his career he worked on television adaptations and died in Orvieto in 2017.
