Biography
Fran Drescher is an American actress, writer and producer. Born on 30 September 1957 in Queens, New York, she made her screen debut in a small role in Saturday Night Fever (1977).
She gained recognition in the 1980s with appearances in films including This Is Spinal Tap (1984). Drescher created and starred as Fran Fine in the CBS sitcom The Nanny (1993–1999), for which she received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She has also voiced characters in the Hotel Transylvania animated film series.
Her later credits include Marty Supreme (2025), in which she plays Rebecca Mauser. Drescher served two terms as president of the SAG-AFTRA trade union.
