Biography
George Eckstein was an American writer and television producer. Born in Los Angeles, he began his television career in the early 1960s as a writer on series including The Untouchables, Gunsmoke, Dr. Kildare and The Invaders.
He wrote ten episodes of The Fugitive (1963) and served as associate producer and co-producer on the series. With Michael Zagor, he co-wrote the two-part finale, "The Judgment" (1967). Eckstein produced The Name of the Game, executive produced Banacek and produced the 1971 television film Duel, directed by Steven Spielberg. Later credits as producer or executive producer included the miniseries Masada and 79 Park Avenue, and the series Love, Sidney. He also wrote several Perry Mason television films in the late 1980s and 1990s.
