Biography
James Sheldon (born Leonard James Schleifer) was an American television director. He was born on 12 November 1920 in Manhattan, New York, and died there on 12 March 2016.
Sheldon directed episodes of numerous series from the 1950s to the 1980s, including six episodes of The Twilight Zone (1961–1962), as well as MASH (1972), Batman (1966), The Dukes of Hazzard (1979), The Love Boat (1977), Sledge Hammer! (1986), Perry Mason (1957), Gunsmoke (1955), Sanford and Son (1972) and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour* (1962). He studied at the University of North Carolina and began his career in radio before moving to television.
