Biography
Georges Renavent (also credited as Georges de Cheux, George Renavent and variants) was a French-American actor in film and on Broadway. Born in Paris, France, he immigrated to the United States in 1914. His first American film appearance was in The Seven Sisters (1915).
Renavent appeared in numerous Hollywood films, often in supporting or uncredited roles, including Queen Christina (1934) as the French Ambassador, Rio Rita (1929), Casablanca (1943), Strangers on a Train (1951) and Mara Maru (1952). He also performed in Broadway productions and operated an American Grand Guignol theatre. He was married to actress Selena Royle from 1948 until his death in Guadalajara, Mexico, on 2 January 1969.
