Biography
Gertan Klauber (5 March 1932 – 1 August 2008) was a Czech-born British character actor. He moved to the United Kingdom before the Second World War and trained at the Birmingham School of Acting. He appeared on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.
Klauber was a regular in the Carry On film series, appearing in seven entries including Carry On Cleo (1964). On television he played Ola in Doctor Who (1967), King George III in Blackadder the Third (1987) and Emilio in The Sweeney (1975). His film roles included Bubi in Octopussy (1983) and an uncredited part in The Living Daylights (1987). He also appeared in Top Secret! (1984), Bad Timing (1980), House of Cards (1990) and Inspector Morse (1989).
