Biography
Gillian Robespierre is an American director and writer. She was born on 29 June 1978 in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a degree in Film and Video in 2005.
She began her career as a production assistant on feature films and worked at the Directors Guild of America until 2014. Robespierre made her feature debut with Obvious Child (2014), which she wrote and directed, expanding from a 2009 short film. Her second feature, Landline (2017), which she also wrote and directed, premiered at Sundance. She has directed episodes of television series including Casual, Crashing, Silicon Valley (2018), Mrs. Fletcher, A Teacher, Only Murders in the Building (2021) and And Just Like That….
