Biography
Crystle Roberson Dorsey, also credited as Crystle Viviana Dorsey, is an American director, writer and producer. Born in Germany to US military parents, she grew up in Macon, Georgia, where her interest in film developed while working at a camera shop in high school. A storyteller from childhood and an award-winning writer since elementary school, she has more than 15 years of industry experience.
She is a member of the Directors Guild of America and received the Woman to Watch Award from Women in Film & Television in 2008. Dorsey has directed episodes of numerous television series, including Greenleaf (2016), All American (2018), Genius (2017), The Gilded Age (2022), American Horror Story (2011), Power Book III: Raising Kanan (2021), Will Trent (2023), Found (2023), Doctor Odyssey (2024) and The Beauty (2026). She has also served as producing director on series such as Queens (2021) and BMF (2021).
Her early work includes award-winning short films and independent projects. She is married to actor Omar J. Dorsey.
