Biography
Gloria Foster (15 November 1933 – 29 September 2001) was an American actress. She began her career on Broadway in 1963 and became known for her stage work, including roles in In White America and the Broadway production of Having Our Say (1995). She received three Obie Awards for her performances.
On screen, Foster appeared in films including The Comedians (1967), Leonard Part 6 (1987) and City of Hope (1991). She played the Oracle in The Matrix (1999) and The Matrix Reloaded (2003). Her television credits include The Cosby Show (1987) and the miniseries The Atlanta Child Murders (1985) as Camille Bell. She was married to actor Clarence Williams III from 1967 to 1984.
