Biography
Gordon Carroll was an American film producer. Born Charles Gordon Carroll III in Baltimore, Maryland, he studied at Princeton University and served as a first lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean War before entering advertising.
He began his film career as executive producer of How to Murder Your Wife (1965) and went on to produce Cool Hand Luke (1967), Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973), Blue Thunder (1983) and Red Heat (1988). In 1969 he co-founded Brandywine Productions with David Giler and Walter Hill.
Carroll produced the first five films in the Alien franchise: Alien (1979), Aliens (1986, as executive producer), Alien 3 (1992), Alien Resurrection (1997) and Alien vs. Predator (2004). He died in Los Angeles in 2005.
