Biography
Gwendoline Christie is a British actress. She trained at Drama Centre London, graduating in 2005, and began her career in theatre with productions including the Royal Shakespeare Company's Great Expectations and roles in Cymbeline and Doctor Faustus.
She is known for playing Brienne of Tarth in the HBO series Game of Thrones (2012–2019) and Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017). Other credits include Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015), Larissa Weems in Wednesday (2022), Lucifer Morningstar in The Sandman (2022) and Miranda Hilmarson in Top of the Lake (2017). She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Game of Thrones.
