Biography
Harold Faltermeyer is a German musician, composer and record producer. Born on 5 October 1952 in Munich, he began playing piano at the age of six and later worked as a session musician and arranger with Giorgio Moroder.
He is known for his electronic scores for several 1980s films, including Beverly Hills Cop (1984), which features the theme "Axel F", Top Gun (1986), for which he shared a Grammy Award for the "Top Gun Anthem" with Steve Stevens, and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). Other credits include The Running Man (1987), Fletch (1985) and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987). He received two Grammy Awards for his work on the Beverly Hills Cop and Top Gun soundtracks.
